9/14: Rainy Days and Mondays

BRAVO: Get cozy with a free film screening as The Dallas Opera concludes its Cosi and Koozies series this week, possibly because they've exhausted all their deftly-chosen promotional tie-ins to the upcoming season's schedule. A Double Life, the 1947 Academy Award winner that sends an actor spiraling into crazyland as he assumes the role of Othello, is on at the Inwood. 7:30PM.

CALL IT PAUL: KERA is weeks away from debuting 91.7 FM KXT, the all-tunes station on which local music hopes and dreams are being heaped in healthy proportions. Sarah Crisman, the newly christened music editor for Pegasus News, reported Sunday that Paul Slavens' adventurous 90.1 At Night show will take it's rightful place on the lineup as The Paul Slavens Show. Write an alternate suggestion for the show's name -- or a snarky song title of your choice -- on a slip o' paper and Slavens will make a song out of it at Dan's Silverleaf. 10PM.

GRANDER DESIGN: Dallas Market Center and Design Guide are throwing a cocktail party and silent auction tonight to shed some soft light on a health care issue we can all agree on. Designed With Care benefits the Children's Cancer Fund, and if you've got $45 ($55 at the door) to spend on a worthy cause, this swanky party's for you. World Trade Center, 5PM.
