8/17: Makes You Say Woah

FLIPPY-FLOPPIES: Singer, songwriter, and guitar player Jack Johnson is definitely one of those guys we imagine when you think of puka shell necklaces and shirtless guitar strumming on the beach. We imagine he says "woah" a lot, possibly with some throwback "gnarly" mentions -- after all, he's from the North Shore of Oahu. That's Hawaiian for awesome, broseph. Catch his tunes (including Curious George!) tonight at the Superpages.com Center starting at 7 p.m.

LAFFY TAFFY: We're big fans of improv comedy, especially in locales that allow you to gobble some grub whilst giggling. Luckily Section 8 Comedy at Ozona Bar & Grill will bring the funny tonight at 9 p.m., all while you enjoy the food and beverages from Ozona's kitchen. Just don't spray beer out of your nose during the show...it hurts.

MATHEMATIC MIND-BLOWER: You may not know what a tessellation is, or how many sides a icosahedron has, but you with have your mind warped by the geometric works on display at the Geometric MADI Museum. You'll see how simple shapes can be woven into complex works of art, and you may never look at the simple square the same way ever again.
