5/8-9: Doug Benson, CityArts, and Mom

What You're Doing This Weekend

Laugh, look, listen, and show your love for Mommy this weekend.

BURNOUT BENSON: As former VH1 addicts (admission is the first step), we're quite aware of Doug Benson's comedic stylings. But if you're unfamiliar, just look at the name of his documentary -- "Super High Me." Bingo...or should we say burn-o? Anyways, Benson's on for two final shows at Hyena's in Dallas at 7:30 p.m. or 10 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

ART PARK: We're becoming quite obsessed with finding a way to get out to Fair Park as often as possible, so it's natural we're excited by the CityArts Festival featuring local artists, entertainment, food, and fun from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday or noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. DART trains are recommended to make the journey -- a ticket will run you cheaper than parking.

MOTHER, DO YOU THINK THEY'RE GOOD ENOUGH?: Pink Floyd tribute artists Bricks in the Wall will take the stage on Saturday night at Dallas' House of Blues for a 9 p.m. showcase of psychedelic rock. Coincidentally, the band's name comes from a track on Floyd's "The Wall," which will be played in entirety (with a wicked stage show, we hear) when front man Roger Waters comes into town in November.

LAST MINUTE: Sunday is Mother's Day...and you still don't know where to brunch? We've got a few picks in this article. Looking for a gift? We've got that covered, too. Need help picking out a card? Tough. We only do that for Valentine's Day.
