1/27: Oddballs in Your Court

RIGHT 'ROUND: Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger of The Fiery Furnaces fake British for another go on their newest record, Take Me Round Again. Another thing the zany indie-pop duo repeats on the disc: their own songs, six in all, completely redone with everything tossed but the lyrics. Even if it's the first time 'round for you, take the chance to experience the band's strange and commanding live show at The Lounge on Elm Street at 8PM.

FUZZY IMAGES: The B.S. Art Fusion experiment outdoes itself again with a saucy Dr. Sketchy's burlesque figure drawing session and free Fuzzy's tacos while they last. Rubber Gloves in Denton, 9PM.

IT'S LOG: You know the odd world Ren and Stimpy lived in, the one that never ceased to widen your eyes as a kid and beckon your parents from their desks to assume censor mode? Artist Glen Barr helped made that brain-sick (but somehow kid-magnetizing) universe for the Ren & Stimpy Show. You can see the more racy of his shady imaginings in a show called New Work at the 4th Wall Gallery. Open until 6PM.
