12/6: Polar Express, The Drowsy Chaperone and a Sake Soiree

ALL ABOARD TO WINTER WONDERLAND:  It may not be chilly enough for snow outside (just yet), but the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History have a few IMAX shows playing sure to plunge you into the frosty North Pole. Now showing through Jan. 3, experience holiday favorites by hopping onboard The Polar Express or watching two winter legends duke it out in Santa vs. The Snowman anytime from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Omni Theater. Click here for exact times and tickets.

DOZING OFF BETWEEN JAZZY LAUGHS: Kick back a shot of scotch; throw on your best flapper get up and let the music of The Drowsy Chaperone guide you through the Jazz Age. This may have you feeling a bit uneasy, but don’t worry, it’s all what the Broadway obsessed “Man in Chair” experiences on stage as you just watch.  The Tony Award-winning show, The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical within a comedy about the elusive “Man in Chair” imagining his life in a musical world centering on a showgirl planning to wed an oil tycoon.  The production opens tonight at Theatre Three at 7:30 p.m. with shows running through Jan. 8. Tickets are between $15 and $40.

SAKE, SAKE MAKE ME MORE HAPPY: Start the week off right with a warm (alcoholic) beverage, maybe a few. The Japanese-American Society of Dallas/Fort Worth invites you to attend a sake soiree at Bailey’s Prime Plus starring flavored sake beverages from five breweries in Akita prefecture in Japan. Learn sake etiquette like how to order it and the proper way to drink it from a certified sake expert as you nibble on specially prepared hors d’oeuvres. The night of sake sipping costs $55 and starts at 7 p.m.
