12/24: ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas

Kaleidoscope of Dreams, Beer Tapping and A Christmas Carol

KALEIDOSCOPE OF DREAMS: With the biggest family event of the year happening tomorrow, it's only fitting to start the yuletide day of thanks with a little QT today. Round up the gang and head out to the Village at Fairview for the Kaleidoscope of Dreams. Featuring over 250,000 flickering lights, the holiday spectacle will also entertain little ones with kid activities, fill bellies with tasty treats and please music lovers with live tunes. The night of family fun kicks off at 5 p.m. with a light show happening every 30 minutes at Macy's Court.

BEER TAPPING: The Meddlesome Moth in Dallas plans to deck the halls with beer this year. Sample rare ale tappings including Austin's 512 Double Pecan Bourbon Barrel and Sierra Nevada's 30th Anniversary Grand Cru perfectly paired with some chef-prepared delectable bites. The beer haven will be open regular hours 11a.m. to 2 a.m. for all you night owls.

BA HUMBUG: We've written about some of the best holiday events in North Texas and this one is too good to say only once. No Christmas is complete without the tale of Mr. Scrooge and his Christmas ghosts. Watch the Dallas Theater Center production of the beloved holiday classic "A Christmas Carol" come to life on the Kalita Humphreys stage with veteran performer  Chamblee Ferguson playing the cranky old Ebenezer. The performance benefits the North Texas Food Bank. Tickets are $15 to $70, with the first show beginning at noon.
