1/12: Stage Show

Spooky Irish play, Partyfest and Open Mic Night

MORE THAN JUST AN IRISH JIG: Playwright Martin McDonagh is the man behind the black comedy, "Lieutenant of Inishmore." Currently, Terry Martin’s gory interpretation on stage at the WaterTower Theatre at the Addison Theatre Centre is doing McDonagh’s vision justice. The tale takes place in Inishmore, Ireland, centering on an off-the-wall character with a strange cat fetish and a group of assassins from the Irish Republican Army. The production can get a bit gory for theatre with special effects by Steve Tolin, but still makes for an entertaining Wednesday night out. Tonight’s show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 for Wednesday’s showing. The play runs through Feb. 6.

PARTYFEST: Want some tips on how to throw the best bash in town? Pay a visit to the Dallas Market Center today for the 23rd annual Partyfest Tradeshow. The party playhouse is not just home to event planners throughout North Texas, but for the diehard party host in all of us.
