11/8: Mustache Mayhem at Lemon Bar, Plus Half Off Mav's Tickets and New Piano Bar Opens in Uptown

HAIRY HOUR: If things have started to look a bit hairy this month, you can blame/thank Greenlight and Snappy Salads for creating Dallas Moustache to raise awareness for Movember, a month long challenge for dudes everywhere to grow ‘em thick in order to promote men’s health. Mo’nday happy hours will be taking place all month at various Dallas venues, and Lemon Bar is up to host the second one tonight. The event is free, but a $5 donation earns you $1 wells, $2 domestics, $4 premiums and light nibbles from 6 to 9 p.m. Special Mo’ American Apparel T’s will be on sale for $20, and American Airlines will be raffling off two roundtrip domestic flight tickets. Raffle tickets are $5. Proceeds from Movember will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

BALLIN’ ON A BUDGET: Travelzoo is offering 50 percent off Maverick’s tickets at the AAC for the next three days when you buy them in pairs. Specials include the lower level and platinum club seats, which means more dough to drop on hot dogs and beer. The sale ends Wednesday at 10pm. Meet us across the street for happy hour before watching Dirk and his new do’ take on the Celtics at 7:30 p.m.

PIANO PARTY: If you can’t get enough of Barry Manilow, Journey and Van Morrison (and who can’t?!), you’re in luck. The dueling pianists at Uptown’s new piano bar, Penguin, have thousands of tunes in their musical arsenal and will play just about anything written down on a napkin and tossed at them for a buck or two… or 20. Doors open tonight at 7pm. Grab some chow before because the venue is not foodie-friendly. Shows start at 8pm on Thursday through Saturdays, and cover charges range from $5 to $7 depending on the night. Can you really put a price on Bennie and the Jets?
