10/29: Young Heart

PAWP STARS (SIC): If you want to rid yourself of cynicism for one precious hour, head to Gilley's in Dallas where Garland's Brittnee Lee takes the mic as earnest teen country singer/songwriter with potential in the company of better-known Big D Opry talent. Not in the mood for taking chances? Ty Herndon or D Magazine cover girl Aubree-Anna will see you there. Show at 7:30PM.

NEVERMORE: We should not let Halloween go by without honoring the kind of creepy that knows no season. Edgar Allen Poe is the master of said kind of creepy, and Bill Fountain, the author of the graphic novel Raven, reinforces this with live theater based on the writer and his works. The show is staged in St. Thomas Aquinas School's drama room; Fountain will sign copies of his book following the performance. 7PM.

ONE BOY'S DREAM: If you're planning to enjoy Dallas Theater Center's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Wyly, Art&Seek recruited a guest blogger with some value to add to your experience. Josh Greenfield, a junior at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and visual arts, reflects on his audition for the part of Snug and rehearsals amid the exciting first days of Dallas' renewed appreciation for its artistic talent with the landmark opening of the AT&T Performing Arts Center. See the show at 7PM.
