STRANDED AT THE CONCERT: Promoting their third album “Hands All Over,” the Grammy Award-winning Maroon 5 is touring the nation and paying a visit to the Big D tonight. The album’s first single “Misery” sounds like it would be a downer to listen to, yet with its pop/rock beat and funky melody, the song was welcomed by fans and topped worldwide music charts. The Los Angeles natives have been together since the ‘90s and debuted on Billboard in 2002 with their first studio album. Now, after achieving music stardom lead singer Adam Levine revealed in an interview with U.K.’s Mail Online the end may be near, “Eventually I want to focus on being a completely different person because I don’t know if I want to do this into my 40s and 50s and beyond, like the Rolling Stones.” Give Levine and the rest of Maroon 5 a reason to stick around and rock out well into middle age by seeing them perform tonight with OneRepublic, and Ry Cuming (who we recently interviewed) at Superpages.com Center at 7:30 p.m.
MERCY, MERCY MR. MURPHY: He may be recognized more for his striking resemblance to younger brother Eddie Murphy, but Charlie Murphy can sure dish out a joke or two solo. The elder Murphy ahs been in the comedy game just as long as his brother and recently premiered his own Comedy Central stand-up special “Charlie Murphy: I Will Not Apologize” in February and appeared in a few films this year alone including “Lottery Ticket.” Adding to his on-screen presence, Mr. Murphy frequents local improv joints to keep up with his craft. CLASSIC SUPENSE: It’s Thursday, and the Angelika Film Center in Dallas is all set for a suspense-filled evening screening another Alfred Hitchcock film. Tonight, the 1951 film “Strangers on a Train” based on the novel (of the same name) by Patricia Highsmith will be featured on the outdoor patio at Mockingbird Station. The film’s plot centers around, of course, strangers on a train -- with a touch of drama...AND MURDER. See one of the all-time best thrillers (seriously, it’s #32 on AFI’s "100 Years…100 Thrills" list) tonight at 8 p.m. as Mockingbird Station continues its Hitchcocktober celebration.
