BEAT GOES ON: Against tunes by Jay Farrar and Benjamin Gibbard, One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Kerouac's Big Sur uses John Ventimiglia's voice and a whole slew of letters from a cabin in the woods to bring Jack Kerouac to the big screen. If the viewer is tempted to place Kerouac on the shelves of literary history, Tom Waits and Sam Shepard are among those who testify to the writer's influence on a post-Beat world. AIR JORDAN: Louis Jordan put the jump into jazz and blues in the '40s. While his contemporaries played to the crowds with straight big-band and conventional pop, Jordan won them over with his own style. Some say his music morphed into what we know as rhythm and blues -- decide for yourself (and have a blast) at Casa Manana's staging of Five Guys Named Moe featuring tunes like "Caldonia" and "Knock Me A Kiss." 7:30PM.
MOON WILLIAMS: Andy Williams, best-selling pop artist and national treasure according to Reagan, has written a memoir about the contradictions he's known for (and some more) called Moon River and Me: A Memoir. Williams comes to Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church for a signing and possible political discourse at 7PM.
