Everything's bigger in Texas, including one armadillo in particular.
A 1,000 pound armadillo now sits along the Bedford Euless Road in North Richland Hills.
The loaned art by Texas sculptor Joe Barrington is part of the city's Art in Public Spaces Program.
While the art is on display -- with citizen input considered -- the city has the option to purchase, continue to display or return the art work.
The massive mammal sculpture will stay at 8205 Bedford Euless Rd. for at least the next six months.
The sculptor started welding at a young age and turned his life's work to art. He now lives in Throckmorton and has a studio and gallery in nearby Albany.
