Texas is Utopia & Dallas is the Capital

Texans already know how awesome Texas is, but we can always use a few reminders about how fabulous the Lone Star State is.

BuzzFeed recently named "50 Sure Signs That Texas is Actually Utopia." And we must say, we have to agree!

Music! Texas is famous for its music festivals, especially South By Southwest & Austin City Limits. And when it comes to country music, Texas is the real deal, home to major music legends like Willie Nelson & George Strait.

And let's not forget about Burleson's own, Kelly Clarkson! The American Idol winner has racked up several Grammys and is proud to call North Texas home.

Texas talent doesn't stop there. There are so many amazing actors and actresses from Texas, from Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey to funnyman Steve Martin (yep, Steve was born in Waco).

Actress Jennifer Garner's from Houston and comedienne Carol Burnett was born in San Antonio.

High school in Texas wouldn't be complete without the insanely popular (and massive) homecoming mums! Back in the day, we gave our dates a nice, simple corsage. But now, the arrangements are about as big as the girls wearing them...and we can't get enough!

Now, if Texas is Utopia, our friends over at The Dallas Morning News took it a step further, saying Dallas is Utopia's capital.

Here's why:

The Arts District. We have the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Wyly Theatre and the Winspear Opera house all within walking distance of each other.

People in Dallas live & breathe sports! And why shouldn't we? The Dallas-area is home to three championship teams: the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks. And we're hoping the third time's the charm for the Texas Rangers to add a World Series title come fall.

And of course, we can't talk about Dallas without mentioning The State Fair of Texas. With the its deep-fried goodness, Big Tex and The Texas Star ferris wheel, nothing beats the Fair in the fall.
