Fort Worth Drive-In Opens Friday

A brand new drive-in movie theater is about to open in Fort Worth.

We've been following the progress of the Coyote Drive-In since they announced their plans back in Feb. 2012, and now, this Friday, May 10, they'll be open for business.

The three screen drive-in will show double features of first-run, new releases starting May 10, including Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby and others.

Ahead of the opening day, though, the drive-in is breaking in the screens by showing double bills of classic films May 8 and 9.

The theater is showing Back to the Future and Jaws, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Grease and American Graffiti starting at 8:30 p.m. each night. Gates open at 7 p.m. so you can get a good parking spot.

Coyote crews say they will be limiting the number of cars to each screen while they ramp up to opening, so buying your tickets ahead of time is a good idea.

Tickets are $8 for ages 12 and over, $6 for children 5 to 11, and children under 5 are free, according to the theater's FAQ page.

Speaking of FAQs, you should definitely check out the Coyote Drive-In official site to get answers to the nagging questions like "How do I hear the movie sound?" (FM radio), "Can I bring food?" (Nope, but they've got vittles), and "Can I get there by horse?" (Yep. They say they've even got hitchin' posts.)
