Dallas Opera's Colorful Theatrical Costumes Are Star of New NorthPark Exhibit

At NorthPark Center, some mannequins are dressed in Victorian garb. Others are dressed, rather convincingly, like Egyptian royalty. These figures are not in store windows, they are part of a new costume exhibit from the Dallas Opera.

On view through Nov. 4, these historic Dallas Opera costumes showcase designers. "The Fabric of Opera" is a free public art display offering a unique representation of the Opera's 60-year legacy. The displays include nearly two dozen costumes worn by some of the greatest opera artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
