The Fort Worth Zoo is about to get an expensive $100 million makeover, but more money still needs to be raised to make it happen.
On Monday, the zoo kicked-off "A Wilder Vision," a renovation project that will include work on current habitats, new exhibits, special event space, dining areas, restrooms and new ways to observe, interact and learn about animals.
The zoo has already raised $90 million for the project, but is hoping to raise the final $10 million from the public.
The zoo revealed renderings of development plans Monday morning -- those can be seen in the slideshow above.
The improvements and additions will come in phases; the new African savannah exhibit is expected to open in two years.
