Merriam-Webster has added more than 250 new words and definitions to its dictionary in the last month, including commonly used words from the worlds of food, sports, politics and technology.
FOOD:
Sriracha: a pungent sauce that is made from hot peppers pureed with usually garlic, sugar, salt, and vinegar and that is typically used as a condiment
Froyo: short for frozen yogurt
SPORTS:
Face Mask: a penalty imposed on a player for grabbing and pulling an opponent's face mask during play
Bunny: an easy shot (such as a layup) taken close to the basket

POLITICS:
Alt-Right: a right-wing, primarily online political movement or grouping based in the U.S. whose members reject mainstream conservative politics and espouse extremist beliefs and policies typically centered on ideas of white nationalism
Dog Whistle: an expression or statement that has a secondary meaning intended to be understood only by a particular group of people
TECHNOLOGY:
Ransonware: malware that requires the victim to pay a ransom to access encrypted files
Troll: to antagonize (others) online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content
