Dallas Teen Takes Viral Bar Mitzvah Dance to “Ellen”

Video of spectacular entrance from inside chandelier has nearly 1 million YouTube views

A Dallas teen whose choreographed entrance to his bar mitzvah became a viral video is dancing his way to "Ellen."

Video footage from 13-year-old Sam Horowitz's bar mitzvah went viral last month. It was shown on NBC's "Today" show, local newscasts and has nearly 1 million views on YouTube.

Horowitz will appear on "Ellen" on Wednesday, and the talk show host has plenty of surprises for him, including meeting Celine Dion.

When asked if he wants to be a performer, Horowitz told Ellen Degeneres, "Yeah, I definitely want to entertain -- whether it's have my own talk show or, I love fashion, so being a fashion correspondent. I love to entertain."

The video shows Horowitz descending from the ceiling inside a chandelier toward a stage at the Omni Hotel in Dallas. Once on the ground, the chandelier lifts, and Horowitz is revealed. He then performs a choreographed number to Jennifer Lopez's "Dance Again," flanked by more than a half-dozen dancers.

Horowitz said he rehearsed the routine for three hours every weekend for a month before the November 2012 event.

“When I was seven, I went to a concert and the singer [and] some performers came out of a chandelier,” Horowitz told KHOU-TV. “And I said, 'Oh my God, that’s what I want to do.' I’m so fortunate to be able to do things like that, and it was definitely the best day of my life.”

Horowitz's mother said the routine wasn't the only hard work her son put in -- he also raised money for underprivileged children in Israel as part of his coming of age ritual.

What's next for the budding star?

"We are going to keep dancing and something come next," Horowitz said. "I can't tell you what it is, though."

"Ellen" airs on NBC 5 at 3 p.m.
