Fort Worth Hosts 30th Annual Main St. Arts Festival

One of the largest art festivals in Texas is going on this weekend in downtown Fort Worth.

The Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival started Thursday and goes until Sunday. This is the festival's  30th year.

The festival is several blocks long. It begins on Main Street at the Tarrant County Courthouse and ends near the Fort Worth Convention Center.

The festival has more than 200 artists, and also includes live music and food.

Festival organizers say the art on display is some of the best in the country.

"When you have almost 1,400 artists apply to be in a show that only accepts 215, you know the quality of the art is going to be absolutely incredible, and on top of that they are from all over the country," said Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival director Jay Downie.

The festival is free and open to the public. It opens at 10 a.m. each day.
