Dollar Day at the Dallas Zoo is Wednesday which usually means traffic tie-ups, parking predicaments and crowds of people.
Chopper 5 was over the zoo just before 11 a.m. and while the scene wasn't as crazy as in Dollar Days past. It could just be a matter of time, after all, it's the day before Thanksgiving, school is out and some North Texans may be looking for cheap entertainment for out-of-towners.
On Wednesday, not only is admission $1, so are some snacks and nectar for the lorikeets.
A ride on the Endangered Species Carousel is $2, giraffe feedings are $5 and parking is $8.
Zoo officials always encourage people to take DART's Red Line to the zoo to avoid traffic.
