Barnes & Noble Brings Booze to the Bookstore

Booze and books are coming together at the largest book retailer in the country.

It’s a new concept Barnes & Noble is going to try in Plano. The company says it is going to offer beer and wine to their customers, along with books, when it opens its new location at Legacy West.

The store is expected to open in March 2017 and it will be the fifth Barnes & Noble store in the country to offer alcohol.

The idea, however, is not entirely new. Independent book stores have already been selling books and alcohol for quite some time.

Like in Dallas, The Wild Detectives bookstore in the Bishop Arts District have been offering customers adult beverages to go along with their reading for about two years. Deep Vellum Books in Deep Ellum stared selling alcohol when they opened last March.
