NBC 5, DFW Rescue Me, and Barking Hound Village invite you to attend the 7th Annual Kibble & Cocktails to raise awareness for animal cruelty and to help rescue dogs. Join NBC 5’s Brian Curtis on Thursday, April 5, at the Empire Room in the Dallas Design District to enjoy live music and bites from the best restaurants.
The restaurant participants are Carbone’s, CBD Provisions, Chelsea Corner, Nick & Sam’s, Sachet, Uchi, and Up on Knox. Casamigos Tequila will be the Kibble and Cocktail’s sponsor for the evening’s spirits, along with a full bar featuring Kendall-Jackson wines and beer from Three Nations Brewing.
There will also be a photo wagon, raffles, plenty of adoptable dogs and a live auction. The auction items include gifts from Hotel Saint Cecilia, Nasher Sculpture Center, The Joule, Hollywood Feed, Gemma, Bam Beauty Bar, Urban Spikes, Four Seasons Golf, Sachet, Outdoor Voices, and many more.
All proceeds from Kibble and Cocktails will go directly to DFW Rescue Me, a volunteer and foster based rehabilitation organization in North Texas that takes in the worst-case scenario dogs that are often moments away from euthanasia.

About DFW Rescue Me:
You might remember an NBC 5 story from April of 2012. Over 70% of a puppy's body was burned when men doused him with lighter fluid and set him on fire. Upon hearing this news, DFW Rescue Me founder, Jim Wenger, took the puppy (who they named Justice) to Texas A&M Veterinary School of Medicine to receive state-of-the-art treatment. Sadly, Justice was only alive for nine days after the incident, but his story touched people all over the world and he has left a legacy of change in the city of Dallas.
Founded in 2011, DFW Rescue Me is a rescue organization that takes in abused dogs that are on the verge of being put to sleep. This rescue doesn’t have a headquarters, and is wholly volunteer and foster-based. They open their homes to cure these dogs for rehoming.
So where does DFW Rescue Me find the money to cover thousands of dollars in vet bills, medication, food and supplies each month for dogs like Justice? Thanks to Dallas-based Barking Hound Village, they use money raised from the annual Kibble & Cocktails event and put it into a “Justice Fund.”
