Michael Bolton Cut from “Dancing with the Stars”

Michael Bolton couldn’t escape the doghouse.

The “When a Man Loves a Woman” crooner Tuesday was the latest performer cut loose from “Dancing with the Stars,” a day after his hound dog-themed jive was roundly panned as a disaster.

“It’s nothing personal,” judge Bruno Tonioli said on Tuesday’s show, refusing to take back having called Bolton’s routine “probably the worst jive in 11 seasons.”

"It was a doggy mess of a jive. You did it very, very badly. I hated it," Tonioli said then, giving Bolton three points out of 10. In all, Bolton received 12 points out of 30.

Tonioli's particularly harsh criticism prompted fellow judge Len Goodman to reiterate Tuesday that his colleague had gone too far.

“I think our job is to educate and enlighten people and encourage,” Goodman said.

Bolton, for his part, slammed Tonioli for being “inappropriate and disrespectful.”

Upon learning his fate, Bolton said he was “disappointed” he and pro partner Chelsie Hightower were leaving the show.

In the end, Bolton’s exit spared “Jersey Shore’s” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from being the next to go since “Baywatch” hulk David Hasselhoff was voted off the hit ABC reality competition in week one.
