Heather Locklear's Debut Barely Adds to Melrose's Struggling Ratings

Despite being able to proclaim, "The Bitch is Back!," the CW's struggling "Melrose Place" reboot was barely able to manage a slight ratings uptick of about 200,000 viewers from Heather Locklear's much promoted return to the show Tuesday night.

Although "Melrose" got the best ratings that it has had in the past six weeks, the show only managed a 1.1/2 share with 1.574 million viewers in its first half-hour and 1.508 million in its second half-hour. This is up from a 1.3 million-viewer average the previous week. The show has averaged about 1.3 million viewers for the season so far, and ranks 115th in overall show ratings.

"Melrose" did, however, deliver its best in women 18-34 (1.6/4) and women 18-49 (1.1/3) in the past six weeks.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Heather, who joined the popular '90s series at the end of its first season and stayed on throughout the series' successful seven-year run, will return to "Melrose" for a minimum seven-episode arc. She joined original castmates Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga in the updated version for The CW.
