The Revealing Story Behind the Murder of Selena Comes to Telemundo

For the first time on U.S. television, "The Secret of Selena," the revealing story behind the tragic death of the Queen of Tejano Music, will debut on Telemundo.

The show is set to air Sunday, Aug. 25, at 10 p.m. (9 p.m. Central).

The long-awaited miniseries, also available with English subtitles, revolves around the investigation and trial of the murder of Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla-Perez.

The show is an adaptation of the successful book written by well-known Telemundo journalist, María Celeste Arrarás. The series reveals the turbulent events that took place in the months prior to Selena's death that shed light on what happened that fateful day when the singer was shot and killed.

"The Secret of Selena" presents a deep, intimate and investigative look at the shocking murder of the Latina celebrity, who was slain by the president of her fan club and personal friend, Yolanda Saldívar.

The miniseries also looks into Saldívar's "manipulative mind," based on Arrarás' exclusive interviews with the convicted murderer. "The Secret of Selena" is developed around three main characters: Selena (Maya Zapata), Yolanda (Damayanti Quintanar) and María Celeste (Sofía Lama), the journalist who managed to put the pieces of the complex puzzle together after carrying out an extensive investigation and interviewing key people involved.
