Hanna and Harry: A Mexican Netflix Reality Star Will Soon Marry Into British Nobility

Another aristocratic “Harry” has deviated from British norm and will be marrying Mexican-American Hanna Jaff Bosdet at the end of this year.

NBCUniversal, Inc.

If the name Hanna Jaff Bosdet rings a bell, it may be because of her reality star fame— or it could very well be from any one of the dozens of philanthropical or political positions she’s taken on. One thing is certain, the “Made in Mexico” star has done it all in her 33 years and she’ll soon be adding Lady Hanna, Baroness of Teynham, to that extensive list.

This is all due to her soon-to-be nuptials to Lord Henry Roper-Curzon, 34, best known by his nickname Harry. But who is Hanna, the Mexican-American that stole the heart of yet another “Harry" of the noble family? Well, fit for a fairy tale, Harry got down on one knee in the Swiss Alps on January 2, just a few months into their relationship after a blind-date set-up last summer. But, Hanna has an impressive lineage of her own and will soon be the first Mexican woman to marry into the family.

Hanna was born in San Diego, California, in 1986, and has Kurdish-Mexican blood. The socialite was raised in Tijuana with her mother's family and has since studied in some of the best and most prestigious universities in the world including Harvard, Columbia, King's College in England and The Sorbonne University in Paris.

Goal-driven and with a to-do list in hand, she's worked hard toward reaching various milestones in her teens, 20’s and 30’s. Among those dreams that became accomplishments, she designed her own charity fashion line "We are One," held political positions in Mexico and starred as a television personality. She also founded the Jaff Foundation for Education, written three books and and given conferences for TEDx Talks— just to name a few. In 2019 she was also included in Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women in Mexico and Cosmopolitan's 10 "Most Admired Women in Mexico." If that wasn’t impressive enough, she’ll soon be moving to England to live out a modern-day fairy tale.

In the Summer of 2019, Hanna met Harry through a mutual friend that knew Harry was interested in meeting a Latina woman. That match-making friend pulled up Hanna’s Instagram and showed him a picture. Harry, who is Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice of York's cousin, wanted to meet her right away but Hanna wasn’t in England at the time.

In a conversation with Telemundo, Hanna revealed that the two finally met at an art exhibition in England thanks to that mutual friend. Hanna was two-hours late to the event due to a delayed flight but, as fate would have it, they made eye contact the second she walked in. Hanna, however, playing coy, immediately went to find the friend that had organized the meeting. Harry crept up behind the two while they stared off at a painting.

"It's beautiful, right?" he asked from behind.

It was then that the friend formally introduced them. Their love story has drawn many comparisons to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who were also introduced by a mutual friend. However, in this case it only took a few weeks for the couple to announce an engagement.

They spent Christmas together in Mexico and San Diego, and if things seemed to be moving fast, that’s because they did. The love birds traveled to Gstaad in the Swiss Alps with friends and family and Harry popped the question.

Harry is heir to the title Lord 22nd Baron of Teynham and Pylewell Park, and is related to princes Harry and William. On the other hand, Hanna also has her own remarkable family tree and is directly related to the Kurdish Pashas of the Ottoman Empire through her father's side, according to Hanna. Also noteworthy, her relatives on her father's side of the family own the North Bank of Iraq, the largest private bank in the country. On her mother’s side, Hanna is the great-great granddaughter of Charles Henry Bosdet, an electrical engineer credited with establishing the first telephone lines in Mexico. Her lineage was showcased on “Made in Mexico” along other affluent families in the country that aimed at breaking Mexican stereotypes.

Hanna and Harry’s wedding celebrations will take place at Westminster Palace in November and continue to Plyewell Park, the family home that Harry will inherit. Following the English ceremonies, the couple will travel to Mexico City in December for a three-day event topped with the religious nuptials. After the wedding, Harry and Hanna will live in England but plan to regularly travel to San Diego and Mexico.
