‘Worst. Heroes. Ever': See the New ‘Suicide Squad' Trailer

While we await the highly-anticipated "Suicide Squad" movie set to hit theaters in August, DC Entertainment released a little something to tide us over.

The second official trailer for the comic book film aired Tuesday on The CW during the "Dawn of Justice League" television special.

The trailer sees the entire evil gang – Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Joker (Jared Leto), Deadshot (Will Smith), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Slipknot (Adam Beach) and Katana (Karen Fukuhara) – back together again, using their villainous ways to help fight crime in exchange for their freedom.

As expected, the new trailer, which deems the squd the "Worst. Heroes. Ever.," comes filled with chill-inducing moments, action-packed scenes and even more evil than the first (which aired in July), making the film's August release all the more exciting.

PICS: Upcoming movies

A few hours before the trailer aired, a new poster for the film was also released. The shot shows all the characters from above, standing on two ominous red Xs while looking up with their evil stares.

The new poster also includes Viola Davis, who plays Amanda Waller, the government leader that has the difficult task of setting the villains free.

Both trailers have been incredibly dark--something director David Ayer aimed for throughout the filming process and the reason he had to hire an on-set therapist.

"David Ayer is about realism," Beach, who plays Slipknot, previously shared with E! News. "So if your character is tormented, he wants you to torment yourself. He wants the real thing."

The actor continued, "We kind of have, like, a therapist on board if you fall off the wagon and really are villainous...Us actors explore very fine thin lines going to the dark side and he wants to make sure we finish a movie and don't disappear somewhere and then don't show up for work."

"Suicide Squad" hits theaters Aug. 5.
