Kim Kardashian West Poses for Selfie With Inmates During DC Jail Visit

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star reportedly has been filming a documentary about her criminal justice reform advocacy

Kim Kardashian West returned to D.C. as part of her criminal justice reform advocacy — this time, not to the White House but to a local jail.

A spokesperson for D.C. jail says Kardashian West on Tuesday visited the correctional treatment facility in Southeast D.C. Photos from the visit show her wearing a loose-fitting, black T-shirt and pants along with athletic shoes while addressing a crowd of male and female inmates.

In true Kardashian West fashion, Kim also posed for a selfie with a crowd of smiling, orange-clad inmates behind her.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star has been filming a 2-hour documentary for Oxygen about her criminal justice reform advocacy, E! News online reported. Officials declined to provide details about the visit, but told News4 it was for a special project.

The D.C. Department of Corrections said Kardashian West came to discuss criminal justice reform and the Georgetown Prison Scholars program, which hosts courses in English, philosophy, debate and government at the D.C. Central Treatment Facility.

Last year, Kardashian West lobbied on behalf of Alice Johnson who was sentenced to life for a first-time drug offense. Following Kardashian West's visit, President Trump commuted Johnson's sentence after she spent more than two-decades behind bars.
