Jon Stewart's “Daily Show” Replacement According to Twitter

News of Jon Stewart's announcement Tuesday that he would be exiting "The Daily Show" after almost 17 years had fans and the media careening into a furious game of "Name the Replacement" faster than you can say "Mess O'Potamia."

With much conjecture and little debate, Twitter users rushed to nominate candidates they believe could take the baton from Stewart and front Comedy Central's satirical, fake news program. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Dave Chappelle, and The Left Shark are just a few names – some serious, most humorous – floated in the Twitter-sphere.

It's a fun and fitting response to the announcement. After all, it was Stewart himself who described the Internet to Wired in 2005 as "just a world passing around notes in a classroom. That's all it is."
