Illinois Teen Finds Chris Hemsworth's Wallet, Gets Big Surprise After Returning It

The teen wrote a heartfelt letter to the famed actor and sent the wallet

When Tristin Budzyn-Barker found a lost wallet at a restaurant he was dining at with his mother, he knew he needed to find its owner.

The 17-year-old from Poplar Grove, Illinois had stopped at a restaurant just outside of Los Angeles International Airport when he found the wallet. Shortly after, he discovered it was no ordinary lost item – it belonged to actor Chris Hemsworth.

“I looked up at my and mom and I said, ‘Mom do you know who this is?’ We found Thor’s wallet,” the teen told Ellen DeGeneres this week.

That’s when the young Boy Scout, looking to become an Eagle Scout, wrote a heartfelt letter to the famed actor and sent the wallet, money and all, in the mail.

“So he sent the wallet to me and then it says at the end, ‘P.S. Mom says you are on Ellen this week and asked if we could have some tickets,” Hemsworth said.

And sure enough, the young teen and his family were invited to the show, where they were in for an even bigger surprise.

Hemsworth gifted Budzyn-Barker with all the money that was in the wallet at the time he lost it along with a letter to help him become an Eagle Scout.

“I expected it was going to be empty,” Hemsworth said. “And all the cash was in there so I wanted to give you the cash as a little gift.”

On top of that, Ellen gave Budzyn-Barker his own wallet along with $10,000 from Shutterfly to help him pay for college.
