Cronut Creator to Debut Chocolate Chip Cookie Shots at SXSW

The culinary mastermind behind the Cronut is back with a new confection that is turning milk and cookies on its head.

Dominique Ansel  revealed on Instagram Wednesday that his latest creation, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots, will make its debut at SXSW later this month.

It features a chocolate chip cookie molded into the shape of a shot glass that is filled with a shot of milk. The cookie recipe is made to withstand the moisture from the milk.

Ansel said the inspiration came after he recently tried milk with an Oreo, a combination he said is "not a natural combination in French culture," he told Eater. Since "everyone was drinking milk with cookies, you might as well make a dessert that allows them both to be combined," he said.

The shots will be available on Sunday, March 9 at SXSW. Ansel has been cagey on whether the treat will be available at his New York bakery.
