'Prayers to Vegas': Country Music Stars React to Las Vegas Mass Shooting

A number of artists who performed at the Route 91 Harvest Festival took to social media to let their fans know they were safe

The country music community reacted swiftly following the nation's deadliest mass shooting in Las Vegas that left at least 59 dead and over 500 wounded Sunday night at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

"Our hearts are broken and go out to all involved in the tragedy Sunday night in Las Vegas. At its core, country music is about community and love, and we stand with the victims and their families," Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum CEO Kyle Young said in a statement.

A number of artists took to social media to both let their fans know they were safe, and to express their condolences for those who lost their lives.

LiveNation released a statement saying the company was "hearbroken over the tragedy" and plans to support the victims and their families through the aftermath.

More than 500 victims were taken to the hospital, authorities said.

SWAT officers using explosives stormed the gunman's hotel room and found he had killed himself, authorities said. There were about 10 rifles in the room.

There was no immediate word on the motive for the attack. The U.S. Homeland Security Department said there was no "specific credible threat" involving other public venues in the U.S.
