"Gilles Marini has separated his shoulder but still is dancing," a rep for the actor told Access Hollywood.

The news comes just three days after the season premiere of "Dancing With the Stars" Season 8, which saw Gilles and partner Cheryl Burke wow the judges with a sexy cha cha cha, netting a 24 out of 30 score from the judges – the highest total of the night.

Gilles is the third contestant to suffer a serious injury since rehearsals began, with a possible two additional injured "Stars" out there as well.

Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell had to pull out of the competition prior to the season premiere due to a torn meniscus in her knee and country singer Jewel had to bow out with a fractured tibia in both legs.

But Gilles may not be the only wounded "Star" this week.

Photos surfaced early Thursday of computer wiz Steve Wozniak walking with a boot on his left foot.

No details were immediately available on Wozniak's injury.

Additionally, Steve O told AccessHollywood.com's "Dish of Salt" Laura Saltman on Wednesday that he has a bad back which may force him out of the competition.
