Star Sighting: John Cena at TMS

World Wrestling Entertainment superstar and movie action hero John Cena made a pit stop at Texas Motor Speedway on Wednesday.

Cena is in town to promote his new movie, "12 Rounds," which hits theaters March 27.

The Champ not only promoted his movie, he was presented with the key to the city by Roanoke Mayor Pro Tem Holly McPherson.

"12 Rounds" is Cena's second film. His big-screen debut came in 2006 when he starred in "The Marine."

Cena will play a cop in the new action film directed by Renny Harlin, who directed "Speed" and "Die Hard 2."

Here's the storyline according to a press release from Texas Motor Speedway:

Cena is the featured star in 12 ROUNDS and plays New Orleans Police Detective Danny Fisher. When Fisher stops a brilliant thief from getting away with a multi-million-dollar heist, the thief’s girlfriend is accidentally killed. After escaping from prison, the criminal mastermind enacts his revenge, taunting Fisher with a series of near-impossible puzzles and tasks …12 rounds…that he must somehow complete to save the life of his fiancée. Ranging from tests of intelligence to tasks of endurance, the thief keeps Fisher guessing at every treacherous turn. Each new round sends him hurtling through the city at a breakneck pace with innocent citizens in danger as automobiles, streetcars and ferryboats are transformed into potential weapons of mass destruction. With the violent rounds mounting, one wrong move may take the match closer to a deadly conclusion.

Sounds like a good time at the movies.

The last time a star stopped at TMS, it was Kevin James promoting "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" by riding his Segway around the track in January.
