Socialite TV Show Shooting in the Cedars

This smacks of upper middle class

The Style Network’s new show featuring the bonds of Dallas socialite mothers and daughters and the style choices they make is currently filming in the city. One would think you would have only have to hang out in an upscale nail salon for a few days to spot them (and maybe get on TV with those little pink rubber things in between your toes!).

But, a resident spotted a film crew in the more-hip-than-aristocratic neighborhood of the Cedars. Maybe they were lost?

"They had valet set up out front of The Beat condos (very unusual for The Beat) so it’s possible they were attending an event. There were two ladies in the vehicle waiting to enter the building,” said resident Ian Cunningham.

Maybe it’s like on the Real Housewives of Orange County, when you realize insurance agent Vicki’s company is really a small, fluorescent-lighted square room in a generic office complex. Or that the New Jersey housewives never actually buy all that diamond jewelry they're always showing them trying on.

“As a local resident, I find it interesting that a show focused on socialite Dallas is being shot in my neighborhood, the Cedars. I'd like to think we're up and coming but we're better known for the best dive bar in Dallas, Lee Harvey's. We can only hope they choose there to show a bit of our colorful diversity,” Cunningham added.

If the stars of the show were attending an event, it might have been a "recession-buster" auction held at The Beat to sell properties at remarkably low prices.

Viewers can discover just what the patrician pairs were doing in the area when the show airs in October.
