Rihanna's Family Reacts To Chris Brown Case

Rihanna's family is speaking out after the singer's boyfriend, Chris Brown, appeared in court on Thursday to face charges from the couple's alleged violent incident on February 8.

"It's about time," one relative told People after his court date.

Although he appeared before a judge on Thursday, Brown's arraignment on charges of assault and criminal threat has been delayed until April 6.

"He should be in jail," a family member added. "He deserves whatever he gets."

Brown could serve up to four years and eighth months in state prison if convicted.

According to The Associated Press, Rihanna's attorney has stated that the singer will testify if called as a witness.

"She wants to get along with her life and career," he told the AP.
