Red Carpet Wrap Up: Oscar Edition

We couldn't help but feel that this year's Oscar red carpet bonanza was a little... eh.

The first big star of the night and the only star for awhile, meaning we had to suffer through a "like"-laden interview, was Miley (It's Miley!) Cyrus. The underage pop star-slash-actress told Ryan Seacrest that her gown weighed "about 100,000 pounds." She then clarified that it weighed, "more than me."

Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens were just the cutest. Efron said his number is not "too demanding," but Hudgens wouldn't spill the beans on whether or not the two would even be onstage together tonight. We have to like her for being low maintenance. Hudgens told E! host Ryan Seacrest that she only looked at three gowns before selecting her dress for the evening.

Our favorite stars on the red carpet? It's a toss up. Michael Shannon from "Revolutionary Road" said he would have worked for the catering team just to be involved with the movie. (We hope he wasn't too disappointed with his nomination for Best Supporting Actor in that case.) Amanda Seyfried from "Mamma Mia!" rose several notches in our esteem after sassing Seacrest. (Is it us or is it just fun to sass Seacrest?) And Seth Rogen... Here's a guy who seems totally down to earth and funny and who doesn't let the big event go to his head. They are all winners in our minds.

We even got a bit of an education on the red carpet tonight. For those of you who thought large, circular sequins were just called sequins, prepare to be embarrassed. Mr. Jay of "America's Next Top Model" set the record straight. They're not sequins. According to the... (what is his expertise exactly?)... according to Mr. Jay, "they're called paillettes, people!" Yeah, jeez. Get it right. I am so sick of people calling them sequins! Hear that, America?! Paillettes. PAILLETTES!!!

ABC's red carpet coverage before the awards broadcast provided a great opportunity to get some dinner, go to the bathroom and do our taxes. Although they managed to score Tim Gunn as their red carpet host, it wasn't enough to give us back those 30 minutes of our lives.

All in all our favorite moment of the red carpet this evening? Let's just say the Oscar for Creepiest Quote goes to... Ryan Seacrest for saying, "I think I can smell you," to Evan Rachel Wood. Ewww.
