From Homewrecker to Hitmaker, She Hopes

Mel Gibson's girlfriend releases song she wrote with actor

You know her as Mel Gibson's pregnant girlfriend, but Oksana Grigorieva would rather be known for the song she wrote with the actor and just released.

The Russian-born singer and pianist released her first song, "Say My Name," on Monday, according to People magazine. Grigorieva, 39, is hoping to break into the music business with the single and her upcoming album, "Beautiful Heartbreak."

"It is the first and one of the simplest songs on the album, but also one of the most intimate," Grigorieva said of the single.

If you enjoy heavily-accented, high-pitched vocals mournfully singing lyrics that are hard to decipher, you might agree.

Grigorieva reportedly met Gibson, 58, and developed a relationship with him after signing with his record label, Icon Records. The two officially stepped out as an item just after Gibson's wife of 28 years, Robyn Denise Moore, filed for divorce.

Gibson announced his girlfriend's pregnancy on the May 25 "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Grigorieva's baby with Gibson is due in late fall. She also has a son with her former boyfriend, actor Timothy Dalton.

Although Grigorieva wrote all of the other songs on the record herself, she got help from the "Braveheart" director with the first single. It is available for free download at her official website, oksana.fm, and the album is set to be released this summer.
