Jeremy Renner's Oscar Date: Mom!

Jeremy Renner earned his first Oscar nomination this year, and he's going to share his big night with someone special – his mom.

"I'm taking my mom," "The Hurt Locker" star, who's nominated for Best Actor at Sunday's Academy Awards, told Access Hollywood at The Hollywood Reporter's inaugural "Nominees' Night" in LA on Thursday.

And he's not just taking her to the Oscars – Jeremy's mother joined him for the lunch event, too.

As for his hopes for Sunday night, the actor said he wouldn't prepare a speech.

"That means I expect to win, and I don't," he told Access. "I've already won, you know what I mean?"

While his competitors, which include Jeff Bridges, George Clooney, Colin Firth and Morgan Freeman, are Hollywood household names, Jeremy's nominated performance as SSG William James has been his breakthrough role.

"It makes me feel like I've arrived," he said of the Oscar nod. "It's pretty spectacular."
