Carrie Prejean speaks out in a blog, urging her fans to stand up for what they believe in and discussing her relationship with God.
On Wednesday, the embattled beauty queen had her crown yanked -- with the blessing of Donald Trump, the owner of the Miss USA organization -- by pageant officials, who said they stripped her of the crown because of her "unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization."
The day after, Prejean fought back, posting a statement on the BigHollywood.Breitbart.com site. It appears from what she says that Prejean doesn’t think her time in the spotlight is done.
“I am excited and looking forward to where God leads me in the future,” the beauty queens states on BigHollywood. “I know He has big plans for me.”
The tiara-less blonde also writes that she thinks her integrity is paramount.
“I hope Americans watching this story unfold, take away the most important lesson I have learned through all of this: Nothing is more important than standing up for what you believe in, no matter what the cost may be,” Prejean writes on BigHollywood.
Prejean is apparently referring to the pageant flap that gave birth to her celebrity, when Miss USA judge and celeb blogger Perez Hilton asked her opinion of gay marriage.
Prejean is a Vista native who entered the Miss California USA pageant as a contestant from La Jolla. Since the Miss USA pageant, she has appeared numerous times on television, including doing a morning stint on a local news broadcast.
Efforts to declare June 1 "Carrie Prejean Day" in Vista bitterly divided that city. Hundred of locals descended upon a Vista elementary school in May to debate whether the school board should publicly honor Prejean. The board discussed the proposal, which was initiated by trustee Jim Gibson -- but it needed a second motion before the entire board could vote on it. No other member would second it.
Trustee Elizabeth Jaka remarked at the time, "I'm not sure I'm ready to recognize somebody for expressing an opinion."
