Glam Slam: Kate's Crazy Coif

The national obsession with the state of Kate Gosselin's marriage has landed the star of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" on the latest covers of People, US Weekly and Star Magazine. But she's making other headlines as well… for her hair.

"Everybody wants it," Kate says of her longer in front, shorter and spikey in back hairdo.

Oh really? I swear, I just don't get this "style" at all. I think she's a pretty lady. But the hair?????? OMG!

It totally takes away from her natural beauty. It looks so harsh and hacked and something straight out of the 80's. (Hello Flock of Seagulls!) Am I the only one who feels this way?

Kate goes on to say that her hair stylist gets calls from around the country about her 'do. Well - I put in a call of my own… to celebrity stylist and NYC salon owner David Evangelista for suggestions of more flattering styles for Kate. David, who has worked with Eva Longoria Parker, Becki Newton and Julia Stiles, knows a thing or two about GOOD hair and didn't hold back!

"I recommend she grows out the crown because it is way too dated and not becoming at all," David says. "It is very 80's Motley Crue!"

"She can carry a few looks that I think would suit her well. A cute pixie (like Posh) would look great on her since she has a petite and pretty face and fine bone structure. Or go Gwyneth by cutting a slightly angled shoulder-length bob with light layers on the bottom to compliment her face. Finally, a blunt bob with soft side part (think vintage Nicole Richie) would make her almond shaped eyes pop more and also look fantastic, modern and timeless."
