Debra Messing Sued Over Alleged Car Accident

Debra Messing has been sued over an alleged 2007 car accident, despite not being in any of the vehicles, Access Hollywood has learned.

In court papers acquired by Access and filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 6, the "Starter Wife" star has been included in a suit alleging property damage and personal injury following an April 5, 2007, crash on the 101 freeway near Encino in which she was not physically involved.

The suit alleged that defendant Nshan Agazaryan was driving a car owned by Messing, and changed lanes "without warning," causing a collision with plaintiff Adam Smith.

Smith has asked for compensation exceeding $25,000.
