When contacted by Access, a spokesperson for ABC said they would “not comment on casting rumors.”

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Cindy wanted to be a part of the show “very badly,” but husband Sen. John McCain “put the kibosh on it.”

In December, music legend Stevie Wonder said he was also in talks to join the show.

“It’d be fun,” he told Los Angeles 104.3 MYFM radio jock Valentine. “It’s not impossible.”

Wonder, 58, said nothing was set in stone yet, but the dialogue to get him to show off his fancy footwork in the ballroom is open.

“Right now, it’s just a thought,” he said at the time.

Other celebrities rumored to be headed to ABC’s “Dancing” ball room this season are former “Jackass” star Steve-O and a return for Olympian Misty May-Treanor, whose stint on “DWTS” last year was cut short by a serious ankle injury.
