Amy Poehler Debuts ‘Parks And Recreation' Spot During Super Bowl

“Our new President has committed to changing America, and I’ve committed to changing this abandoned pit into a beautiful park,” Amy’s character said while picking up trash at the bottom of an abandoned construction site.

“Our task is hard, our budget is small, our will is… strong - I’m sorry, is this a human bone?” her character asked just before she beginning to gag.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, creator Michael Schur told Access that “Parks And Recreation” would find the comedy in community service groups.

“The idea we had was to have a group of people from a lot of different areas, citizens, people in a government, trying to work on a problem,” Michael explained at NBC’s TCA panel in January. “And I think we thought it would be funny if that problem took a long time to solve.”

Amy said she’s looking forward to her new role, one she’s excited to have time to develop – along with also working with the team who produces NBC’s “The Office.”

“I was excited to be able to turn the volume down a little bit and sit with the character for a little while,” Amy said. “[On] ‘SNL’ the characters and scenes are a little transient… and I was really excited about working with these guys who are the best at what they do.”

“Parks And Recreation,” also starring former “Office” veteran Rashida Jones, debuts on April 9 at 8:30 PM on NBC.
