Live Green Expo 2010

Free admission and fun for the whole family.

"Go green"  with NBC 5 and the City of Plano at the fourth annual Live Green Expo on Saturday, April 17, at Plano Centre.

Join Joel F. Salatin, American farmer, lecturer and author whose books include "You Can Farm" and "Salad Bar Beef" as he presents ground-breaking information that not only benefits your family’s table but the local economy and environment as well.

Interested in learning about green jobs? Don’t miss the 40 foot solar-powered mobile classroom! Take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the education and training programs right here in Texas that are currently preparing the workforce for careers in the emerging solar, wind, and alternative energy fields.

You don’t have to travel to Paris, Rome, Milan or Tokyo or visit the houses of Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino or Armani to see the hottest fashions of the year.   The Eco-fashion Show will bring you unforgettable designs at the Live Green Expo.  Included in the show will be reconstructed garments which will be scored by a panel of three judges, eco-friendly designs painstakingly dyed using colors derived from nature, affordable and breath-taking gowns from your local thrift stores, and for the first time ever…”trashion” will take the catwalk by storm!

Come meet Randy McIlwain, General Assignment Reporter from NBC 5, who will serve as moderator.  Randy has received numerous awards in journalism, including Associated Press and civic honors.   Last year’s show was standing room only so come early to get a good seat.  The show begins at 5:15 p.m. in the Windhaven Room

The Live Green Expo has something for everyone. It features responsible farming, cooking demos, children’s activities, over 150 exhibitors, and much more! So, bring the whole family to experience the Live Green Expo.
