NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 encourage students and their parents to sign up today for the YES Summit which will take place on Saturday, October, 21, from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the UTA Nedderman Hall.
In its 13th year, The YES Summit, started by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Xi Theta Omega Chapter in conjunction with the Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education, is an all-day conference for students in grades 7-12. The conference will provide students with an opportunity to network with their peers, and attend a variety of workshops on leadership, and self-sufficiency for academic and personal success. This unique, complimentary, teen-focused summit provides valuable educational workshops and resources to over 500 youth and over 100 parents in and around North Texas.
YES Summit will address today’s growing need for life skills, STEM careers, conflict resolution, branding, and social media management. The 2017 YES Summit will feature a motivational speaker, valuable workshops, and exhibitors. The YES Summit also provides workshops and resources for parents to encourage parent involvement in their students’ education.
Attendees will receive a complimentary continental breakfast, sack lunch, and GIVEAWAYS!!! The YES Summit is open to high school and junior high school aged students and their parents from schools, organizations, clubs, and societies in and around the DFW metroplex.
