Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk 2018

Saturday, October 20

Form your team now and sign up for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of North Texas 5K Walk, to be held Saturday, October 20 at the Lawn at Reunion Tower, 692 Sports St. in Dallas.

Registration for the eighth annual North Texas event will begin at 7:00 a.m., and the 5K walk is set to start at 8:30 a.m. Since 1993, more than 14 million supporters have raised more than $870 million nationwide. Last year, more than 4,000 walkers in north Texas helped to raise more than $350,000.

The annual walk’s new location will include a route spanning across bridges and through downtown Dallas.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, with more than 1 million participants supporting the noncompetitive mile walks each year. Dollars raised help the American Cancer Society fund innovative breast cancer research, provide education to reduce cancer risk and offer comprehensive patient support.

In 2017, ACS staff helped guide more than 40,000 cancer patients through every step of their journey as they moved through the health care system, including helping with insurance problems, referring them to ACS and other local services, assisting caregivers and addressing obstacles to care.
