Stage West Theatre brings a different twist to the regular cabin and lake summer camps. The Fort Worth based organization is letting creativity take front and center for their one-of-a-kind programs offered for everyone ages 8-19 and for all experience levels.

The camps are offered from June 10 to July 27 and cover everything from creative play, classic staged stories to improvisations. The programs include all of the fundamentals of theatre performance which allow students to learn public speaking techniques to scenic set designing and much more.

This summer’s schedule is:

June 10–13                     Ages 8-13
9:00 AM – 12:00PM        Super Heroes: Endgame Improv

Inspired by Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, Spider Man or the Avengers of S.H.I.E.L.D? Make your own unique Super Hero! Students will learn theater skills while enjoying total creative freedom.

June 10–13                     Ages 8-13
1:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.     Improv, Improv, Improv!

Traditional LA Groundlings style improvisation. Fun, funny, spontaneous, think on your feet Improv! Taught by Allison Connor, Master Improv Teacher!

June 17-20                      Ages 8-13
9:00 – 4:30 P.M.              Me, Masks, and Monsters

In the morning, we explore the faces we wear, like our happy face or the part of us that ‘faces’ our challenges.  We will create our own unique masks representing some of the many sides of us.  Then together, we will create a Monster from found objects, transforming ‘trash’ into treasure. In the afternoon, we will create improvisations and scenes, using our masks and the monster.

June 24-28                     Ages 8-13
9:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.    Musical Theater
This original revue of "Wish – A Lifetime of Magic thru the Power of Wishing" contains songs, dances, and scenes based on making wishes in childhood, adolescence, and into our adult years. We focus on Musical Theatre, producing a kid-friendly 20-minute musical--while learning the basics of singing, acting, and dancing - and having lots of fun in the process!

July 8 – 27                      Ages 14 – 19
9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.     Summer Theatre Conservatory

Seasoned industry artists lead Summer Conservatory students through the process of producing a theatrical show. This fun and well-rounded program culminates in two performances of their show in our Studio Theatre. This summer we will create a devised show ‘HATS’ THAT consists of original scenes and monologues, based on the hats we wear in life and the identities we create for ourselves. In addition, Conservatory students take part in audition preparation technique, training in areas of acting, scenic design, and technical theatre, and culminates in a professional photo shoot, resulting in a link to download a set of agent-ready headshots.
