13th Annual Alzheimer's Association Spring Symposium

Register today to the 13th Annual Alzheimer’s Association Spring Symposium: Moving Forward in Care, Treatment and Research on Thursday, March 31, at their new venue – The Arlington Convention Center.

The Alzheimer’s Association Spring Symposium is the largest regional education event dedicated to bringing the latest on Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

The highlight of the 2016 Symposium will be the keynote presentation by renowned researcher and physician Dr. Steven DeKosky. As a physician, Dr. DeKosky treats patients who suffer from a variety of neurological disorders including Alzheimer's disease.

There will be three educational tracks --- one for family caregivers, one for healthcare professionals and one for physicians.  Continuing educational credits will be offered for physicians, nurses, social workers, licensed professional counselors, activity professionals and facility administrators.

Breakout sessions will include such topics as:
•    Progress in Alzheimer’s Diagnosis and Treatment
•    Facing the Challenges of Younger-Onset Alzheimer’s
•    Managing Legal Issues
•    Connecting through Music
•    Practices for Reducing Caregiver Stress

The exhibit hall will feature organizations that provide additional community resources and services helpful to the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.  The Symposium is free to family caregivers. For professionals seeking Continuing Education Credits, admission is $100. Admission is $50 for professionals not seeking CECs.
