Wilson Has Nice Game in Return to Rangers

There was a pretty nice argument that Brett Nicholas was, for lack of better words, screwed when he was sent down to the minors in favor of the newly (re)acquired Bobby Wilson behind the plate instead of carrying three catcher like Jon Daniels had hinted at.

Here's the deal, though: It was impossible to carry three catchers and send down a reliever with the way the 'pen was exhausted on Wednesday. That could correct itself when the 'pen is fresh and they could end up carrying three catchers after the 10-day window expires for Nicholas to be called back up, barring injury.

Wilson was in the starting lineup on Wednesday and accounted nicely for himself, as he went 1-for-3 with a walk hitting in the No. 9 spot in the lineup.

In 31 games last year with the Rangers, Wilson hit .221 with five doubles, a homer and 10 RBIs. He threw out 24 percent of would-be base-stealers and had two errors.
